Porridge is probably the largest staple in most African countries. This heathy meal can be described as the universal breakfast of many African nations. Using a rice cooker or regular pot we can create this wonderful treat.
The time: To cook and prepare is 25 minutes.
Cup of rice
Few persian cucumbers (small)
Sprinkle of salt
Few slices of ginger (skin removed)
2 cups of water
1. Peel the cucumber and wash it. Slice into thin pieces and remove the seeds.
2. Finely chop the ginger (you can do this by smashing it with your knife).
3. Boil water and add rice.
4. Add the ginger, minced.
5. Add the cucumber strips and salt
6. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until water is almost completely absorbed by the rice.
Add your favorite garnishments and cucumber porridge is ready to be served once the stove is turned off. It's nutritious, supports healthy skin, and, most importantly, it's delicious!
